Product installation

Installation of this product would be rated a 2 out of 5. 1 being extremely easy and 5 being extremely difficult. It is recommended prior to installing any automotive electronics that the negative battery terminal be disconnected.

Written Instructions:

Step 1 - Remove the lift gate tail lamp units. Remove the pinch sensors from both sides of the lift gate. Remove the outer push pin fasteners (2) on both sides of the lift gate. Disconnect the wire harness connector (3). Remove the fasteners (1) from he back of the lamp bar.
Step 2 - Using pliers, squeeze the retaining clip at the top-center of the lamp bar (2) and release it from the lift gate (1). Remove the wire harness grommet from the lift gate and remove the lamp bar. Proceed to install the replacement lamp bar in the reverse order.
Step 3 - Insert the included OBD Genie programmer into your vehicle's OBDII port (under your steering column) with the vehicle in the ON position. You will see a series of lights. Once the green light is illuminated and the factory radio display resets remove the programmer from the OBDII port. Stow it away, the programming is complete!

Q: Is my 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee pre-wired for this backup camera kit?
A: Not always. Most 2014 and many 2015 Grand Cherokees are not fully pre-wired from the factory and will require an additional wiring harness for proper installation.

Q: What additional harness may be required for my 2014-2015 Grand Cherokee?
A: Vehicles that are not fully pre-wired will require our C-INTCAMF-WK custom wiring harness, which connects the factory camera to the rear of the radio.

Q: What does the C-INTCAMF-WK harness do?
A: The harness provides the necessary wiring between the factory camera and radio, allowing the backup camera to function exactly as it would from the factory.

Q: Is there an alternative solution if my vehicle is not pre-wired?
A: Yes. If you prefer not to install the additional wiring harness, alternative backup camera solutions may be available for your vehicle.

Q: What if my Grand Cherokee's exterior color is not listed?
A: If your vehicle's color is not listed among the available options, you may need to purchase the camera component directly from your local Jeep dealer.

Q: Does this kit include a factory radio?
A: No. This product is a backup camera kit and does not include a factory radio.
