Rated 5 out of 5It was a bit tricky to install on the CX-3 (2019), but once I figured out how to route the cables, it was straightforward. The USB hub location is under the climate controls in the CX-3. The video here showed a CX-5 which has the USB hub in the center armrest console, which I think is the case for most Mazdas.
Once you have the display removed, you can feed the new cables down the hole toward the driver’s side, where it will exit a little above the gas pedal. You can then route it behind the plastic panel by where your right foot would be. Then feed it to the back side of the new USB hub. There will be a lot of extra slack, and I found it’s best to leave most of the slack behind the display as there’s extra room there.
Everything works perfectly. Excellent product!

Rated 5 out of 5At first I was skeptical and worried I was about to be scammed but to my surprise it actually came and after putting everything together using the super easy YouTube video (took about 1 hour). It worked like a charm. A little slow at first but it was fine after a little bit. You’ll need a screw driver and pry tool/flat head screw driver, but other than that it includes everything you need. So happy I found this before my appointment at Mazda dealership where I was going to pay $670 to have this done. Ps. I ordered the $20 FedEx 2 day shipping and it came in about 6-7 days all together, for anyone who was freaking out like me after 2 days. Now I get to enjoy my Android Auto and Google maps 😁😁😁

Rated 4 out of 5Service from Infotainment was great. I asked a few questions prior to making the purchase and received quick responses. They sent me a link to compete the purchase and it shipped within a couple days. I was also happy to receive the firmware update on a thumb drive as part of the upgrade. Other upgrade kits I looked at did not offer this.
The upgrade does not come with instructions…..like zero! The video on the website is helpful but it’s for a CX-5 not a Mazda 3 which I have. I utilized other videos and instructions from other websites to assist. The video for the firmware update was spot and worked without issue.
Overall, the install was not super difficult. What took me the most time was trying to figure out which way to route the new harness. The Mazda 3 harness had to be route totally different then the CX-5 in the video. Once I figured out the best option to route the harness the install went pretty smooth. I would note that the upgrade kit does not come with any foam tape or anything to wrap the harness with. I bought some and wrapped the two cables together to prevent any chaffing or rattling.
I only gave 4 stars for the following reasons: 1. This upgrade fits different Mazda models so I understand why the cables were way longer for the Mazda 3 but making shorter ones to fit each model would be nice. I had to wrap up at least 12 inches of extra cable to tuck in behind the glove compartment.
2. There were no instructions in the package. Providing instructions or at least links to find instructions would help. Also providing instructions or videos for each specific model would help and keep me from having to search other sites.
3. While it may not be a necessity, providing foam tape to wrap the cables would be an added bonus for the price point of this upgrade.Overall, I am happy with this purchase and service from Infotainment. I love the convenience Apple Car play provides!

Rated 5 out of 5Working well so far. We have a Mazda3 so the install was a bit different than the video posted on this website, but plenty of other resources on YouTube. Rated 5 out of 5I bought this to upgrade my 2017 Mazda CX-5. It wasn’t as quick and easy as the YouTube videos made it seem, but it was still pretty doable and much more affordable than taking it into the dealership. I’m the end it took me about an hour to install and then another 25 minutes or so to install the update. I had to clear my codes to get the car to read the usb drive – at first it couldn’t read the thumb drive. I suggest making a backup just in case.

Rated 5 out of 5With a little help from their youtube instructional videos I was able to fully install CarPlay in my 2017 Mazda CX-5 in under 2 hours. The software update actually took longer than the hub and wiring installation. For all of you women out there who want CarPlay but dont want to spend close to $1000 at the dealership, this is the way to go. You literally only need 3 tools, just make sure you know where your 10mm socket is ;P. I’m experienced with working on my own vehicle, but honestly even the most inexperienced person could complete this while watching their video. My tip, be patient during the software update. It’ does take as long as they say on the video (about 30-45 mins).

I bought this to upgrade my 2017 Mazda CX-5.

Everything works as advertised. Would have given 5 stars if vehicle specific instructions were better.

With a little help from their youtube instructional videos I was able to fully install CarPlay in my 2017 Mazda CX-5 in under 2 hours.

Extremely easy to install. Only thing hard was finding a video showing how to get the usb hub changed out. Update was simple to complete.
