Q: How long will it take to process and ship my order?
A: Every upgrade we offer is carefully prepared and tailored specifically to your vehicle to ensure a premium, factory-quality experience from the moment it arrives. Fulfillment times can range from 2-10 business days, depending on parts availability and customization requirements.
From the moment your order is placed, our team begins a detailed preparation process that includes:
- Decoding your vehicle’s 17-digit VIN to verify compatibility and confirm all selected options are correct
- Identifying and sourcing the exact components required for your specific vehicle, including genuine OEM parts
- Verifying that all included plug-and-play wiring matches your vehicle’s exact factory specifications
- Professionally programming and bench-testing your upgrade to ensure proper operation before shipment
- Documenting the process with photos and/or videos for quality assurance
- Carefully assembling your order for a secure shipment by our warehouse team
- Coordinating with our customer service and technical support staff so they are fully prepared to assist you before, during, and after installation

Q: Will this upgrade require an antitheft code?
A: Yes, the upgrade will require a 4-digit antitheft code. We will conveniently provide a card with the specific code as well as a sticker applied to the Uconnect 5™ module.
Q: Will this upgrade work right away after installation?
A: Yes, the system will function upon installation, but please allow up to 48 hours for the system to fully sync and acclimate to your vehicle for all features to appear on-screen.
Q: Will my rear backup camera continue to work as designed?
A: Yes, all trucks equipped with a backup camera along with an automatic transmission will work plug & play.
- If your truck features the 360-degree camera, we will program that feature to your new upgrade.
- If your Heavy Duty truck features a manual transmission, in some scenarios you may have to toggle-on the camera from the touchscreen display's rear camera soft-key.
- If your Heavy Duty truck is a cab & chassis and you would like to add a plug & play backup camera, please contact us as we have one prepared to be released soon.
If you experience any back up camera issues after installation, please allow up to 48 hours for the system to sync fully and acclimate to your vehicle.
Q: My heavy duty truck features the cargo "bed" camera, will it still operate?
A: Yes, the factory installed cargo camera will work plug & play. If you're interested in adding this convenient feature, refer to our Ram HD Factory CHMSL Third Brake LED Light Cargo Camera Kit. Available only for Ram Heavy Duty trucks.
Q: Is SiriusXM™ satellite radio supported?
A: Yes, the system is pre-programmed for full SiriusXM satellite radio functionality.
Ram 2500 I 3500 Heavy Duty
- If the wiring behind your factory radio features a blue colored FAKRA plug, it will simply connect to the blue FAKRA plug on the Uconnect 5™ module.
- If the wiring behind your factory radio features a curry colored FAKRA plug, utilize the included universal teal colored FAKRA adapter to mate it to the blue FAKRA plug on the Uconnect 5™ module.
Ram 1500
- If your truck is not currently equipped with SiriusXM™, simply purchase and install our Ram 1500 SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio Antenna. Behind the radio you will notice wiring with a blue FAKRA plug, simply connect it to the blue FAKRA plug on the Uconnect 5™ module.
- If the wiring behind your factory radio features a curry colored FAKRA plug, utilize the included universal teal colored FAKRA adapter to mate it to the blue FAKRA plug on the Uconnect 5™ module.
Q: Will my steering wheel audio controls continue to work?
A: Yes. The system is pre-programmed to work with your factory steering wheel-mounted audio controls. If you're interested in adding this convenient feature for the heavy duty trucks, refer to our 19-22 Steering Wheel Mounted Audio Controls or 23-24 Steering Wheel Mounted Audio Controls.
Q: Will my factory Bluetooth hands-free calling still work?
A: Yes. The upgrade is fully pre-programmed to function with your existing Uconnect™ Bluetooth hands-free calling system. Simply pair your phone to the new system.
Q: Can I request for the new display bezel to contain extra buttons?
A: Occasionally, some 8.4-inch Ram display bezels may include extra buttons for features such as heated / ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, lane-keep assist, etc. These buttons can be used for future upgrades or discreetly covered with our custom designed opaque decals. Please note - If your vehicle is already equipped with an 8.4-inch display you will not need a replacement bezel.
Q: Although I don't use the Ram smartphone application subscription, will I retain it if I decide to use it one day?
A: Yes, but only if your vehicle was equipped from the factory with Uconnect 5™. You will retain those native features along with the Assist & SOS buttons on your rear view mirror. For all other applications:
- Trucks equipped with the older telematics features such as Uconnect Access™, Sirius Guardian™, 4G LTE Hotspot, etc will forfeit those features when upgrading to Uconnect 5™. The new Uconnect 5™ module uses an external telematics module whereas the older systems had telematics embedded in the radio module. Unfortunately, the new Uconnect 5™ telematics modules cannot be retrofitted at this time.
Q: Is the factory remote CD player compatible with Uconnect 5?
A: No. The Uconnect 5™ system is not compatible with the factory remote CD player feature. If you would like to retain CD player capability, please contact us as we have a quality aftermarket CD player kit prepared to be released soon.
Q: Is this upgrade compatible with trucks that do not have automatic climate controls?
A: Yes. This upgrade is compatible with trucks both with and without factory automatic climate controls. Customers who want to add single-zone automatic climate control functionality can install our plug-and-play Auto Climate Control Kit.
Q: Do I need to inform Infotainment if my vehicle has aftermarket additions?
A: Yes. If your vehicle has non-factory additions, let us know in your Shopping Cart “Order Notes” so we can properly program and enable any required features that may not be present on your vehicle’s original build sheet.
