    Originally the truck had the small screen and I travel some and wanted the larger screen to use the Car Play feature. Glad I upgraded. Install was about two hours from start to finish, I took my time as well; reviewed online beforehand. I even had a backup camera that came from a different aftermarket and still worked with the kit. All the features I had from steering control beforehand transferred over to new system as well.

    NOTE: I am not a mechanic nor electrician. I am very good at following detailed instructions. I would have added the Navigation package, but I pull a travel trailer and I have a RV GPS that has my Truck/Truck + Camper data in it for routing and do not believe the Ford Nav Package can do that.

    PLUSES: Fit, finish & integration*. A plug and play install with no wires to cut. All Ford components. Automatic climate control. Camera in the dash & rear-view mirror. All steering wheel mounted audio controls working. The military discount. This is a very nice upgrade that allows me to get Apple Car Play up and running in my truck. This will keep me in this truck for at least five more years.

    MINUSES: Lack of any relevant directions or cable labeling. The cable labels did not make any sense to me. Tech Support phone/online challenges to get help during the install. Had my dash apart and watched the YouTube videos for installing the Sync 3 and camera reroute kit. The issue is those videos did not represent my vehicle nor the cables for my kit. I called for tech support and attempted online help. I was never contacted back when I left voicemail and the web support never responded. I worked through the issue by removing the tray on the dashboard, something not covered in the YouTube video, and was able to find more wires to connect. I finally got the puzzle put together after four hours. Still had some wires that did not connect to anything. One wire was the SXM travel assist but I had no clue where that goes and I am not going to use it so I left that unplugged. I finally got the Sync 3 in and prior to securing everything I did a test. The Ford logo came up and it booted. The reverse camera worked. SXM radio worked. The issue is this install would have not taken the four hours it did if better instructions are available. Now I plugged in the OBD Genie programmer* and it went through the programming but flashed RED X 9 times vs. green. I finally got tech support on the phone at this point. They determined it was a bad Genie program. This error prevents the Sync 3 truck microphone and speaker to integrate with the iPhone. I was told a new programmer would be expedited to me. Three days later I check on the status of the Genie because it hasn’t been received by the USPS. Turns out they do not have any Genie Programmers available and once they arrive, they will send me one. Replacement Genie shipped on 27 May. Genie arrived on 31 May and plugged it in and the Sync 3 reprogrammed and all features are working!

    Bottom Line: The juice is worth the squeeze. Would I recommend this Infotainment Sync 3 8� upgrade to a friend to purchase? Yes, even with the challenges I faced.

    I like the way it looks and how it blended in with my truck interior. To look at it you would never know it is after market, looks like it came with the truck! I like the ability to be able to use Apple car play and use the navigation feature on our phones!

    Negatives – No directions in the box for installation, had to rely on internet. No videos really showed my model truck. Secondly, when I plug into my USB ports and try to remove the USB cable it pulls the whole module out. Not a huge deal, but a pain none the less.

    I upgraded my 2013 F-150 XLT from the 4 inch screen to the 8 inch sync 3 unit. All features work exactly as advertised and have a clean factory appearance. This kit really changes the character of the interior of the vehicle. It has delayed my desire to buy a newer truck. The description states the is a 4 out of 5 in terms of difficulty to install. I found it is closer to a 3 (easier) as long as you plan ahead. Definitely invest in some plastic or vinyl interior trim tools.

          Canada & International Shipping:

          Lost / Missing / Stolen Shipments

          Infotainment.com is not responsible or liable for lost, missing, or stolen shipments. It is recommended that a customer opts for signature confirmation and/or package insurance prior to checkout to help mitigate the liability of losing their shipment. Otherwise, customers are encouraged to monitor the expected delivery date of their order and make arrangements to accept a successful package delivery personally. If the order has been marked as delivered and the package is not found, the customer is encouraged to do their due diligence immediately to locate the missing package.               • Verify the shipping address used within checkout to ensure it is correct
              • Look for a notice of attempted delivery
              • Look around the delivery location for your package. Many times carriers will place the package in a location that isn’t typical, ie. behind the fence, by the garage, near the mailbox, etc. 
              • See if someone else accepted the delivery such as a family member or neighbor. In recent past, customers have found the package mixed with other family member’s packages inside their home several days after delivery.

          For missing UPS/FedEx shipped packages:

              • A UPS1-800-742-5877 or FedEx1-800-463-3339 trace investigation must be initiated as soon as possible. This process takes up to 8 business days to be completed.

          For missing USPS packages:

              • A US Postal Service 1-800-222-1811 trace investigation must be initiated as soon as possible. Many times USPS will suggest that it will take an extra 7 business days after the expected date of delivery to locate the package.

          For missing packages that have been shipped to an APO/FPO:

              • Please note that the Military Postal Service Agency does not consider a package to be lost until 60 days after the date of mailing. If the customer still has not received their package after 60 days then please contact customer service to assist you in filing a missing package inquiry with the MPSA. Once the inquiry is received, the MPSA will be in contact to positively identify the owner and ship the item to the recipient should it be found.

          In the event a lost or missing package is not recovered within 14-days (domestic shipments) or 30-days (international shipments) a police report may be required at the discretion of the customer support manager. All part numbers and/or serial numbers are recorded prior to shipping, this vital information will assist the police with the investigation. Depending solely on the circumstances, the customer support manager may opt to release another identical shipment requiring a direct signature of the original buyer.
